May, in accordance with state laws, help surgeons to make incisions and close surgical sites, manipulate or remove tissues, implant surgical devices or drains, suction the surgical site, place catheters, clamp or cauterize vessels or tissue, and apply dressings to surgical site.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Reports to Manager, Patient Unit. Qualifications
REQUIRED
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills required Ability to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.
PREFERRED
High School Diploma or Equivalent Hospital based or physician office work experience. Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford Hospital CPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement We take great care of careers.
