Job Summary Surgical Technician, C Surgical Technician, CSTFA We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Surgical Technologist/First Assistant to join our dynamic perioperative team at Thomassen Plastic Surgery. In this vital role, you will work closely with the plastic surgeon, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional patient care, supporting complex surgeries, and maintaining the highest standards of hospital safety and infection control. This position is PRN Duties Assist surgeons during a wide range of cosmetic/plastic surgical procedures. Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, functional, and ready for use. Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout procedures to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Provide perioperative care by managing patient positioning, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after surgery. Support discharge planning by coordinating with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth patient transitions from hospital to home or rehabilitation facilities.. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to assist in complex surgical interventions. Assist with advanced surgical techniques including suturing, open surgical methods. Uphold hospital policies on infection prevention, control practices, and healthcare safety standards. Experience Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist or First Assistant within a hospital or OP surgical setting is required. Experience with Plastic Surgery. Demonstrated expertise in perioperative care across various specialties such as medical-surgical care environments. Hands-on experience assisting with open surgical techniques Strong background working with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or similar platforms for documentation purposes. Knowledge of hospital medicine protocols including infection control practices and healthcare-associated infection prevention measures. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; additional certifications related to perioperative or trauma care are advantageous. Familiarity with medical records management, analysis skills for clinical data interpretation, and understanding of healthcare safety protocols are essential for success in this role.
