A Surgical Assistant assists in operations, under the supervision of surgeons. May, in accordance with state laws, help surgeons to make incisions and close surgical sites, manipulate or remove tissues, implant surgical devices or drains, suction the surgical site, place catheters, clamp or cauterize vessels or tissue, and apply dressings to surgical site.

Job Description
We are looking for a dependable, motivated Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team What we offer:

- Monday and Wednesday 8:00am-4:00pm
- Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:00am-1:00pm

Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in dental assisting (oral surgery preferred)
- Dependable and punctual
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
- Competent and eager to learn
- Xray certification (preferred/required per state regulations)
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Bilingual an absolute plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to be coached, positive attitude,take initiative and contribute to an efficient team environment.
Responsibilities of the position:
- Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper set up for all procedures
- Sterilize and maintain instruments according to infection control protocols
- Prepare and position patients for surgery ensuring comfort and safety
- Take and maintain accurate xrays, EMR and patient charting
