Part-Time Oral Surgery Assistant Southwest Maxillofacial Surgery & Implant Center Position:
Oral Surgery Assistant•
Part-Time Schedule:
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays Southwest Maxillofacial Surgery & Implant Center is seeking a dependable, professional, and experienced Part-Time Oral Surgery Assistant to join our clinical team. We are looking for a motivated individual who is confident in a fast-paced surgical environment, provides exceptional patient care, works well as part of a team, and takes pride in being reliable, organized, and attentive to detail.
Work Schedule Monday:
7:30 AM•5:00
PM Wednesday:
7:30 AM•5:00
PM Friday:
7:30 AM•1:00 PM Candidates must be available to consistently work the scheduled days and hours. Key Responsibilities Assist the oral surgeon during surgical and clinical procedures Prepare surgical rooms, operatories, instruments, and equipment Assist with extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, and other oral surgery procedures Assist during IV sedation and surgical cases within the scope of training and applicable requirements Obtain and prepare dental imaging as permitted Prepare patients for procedures and help ensure they feel comfortable and informed Review pre-operative and post-operative instructions with patients Monitor and assist with patient care before, during, and after procedures as directed by the provider Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection-control standards Efficiently turn over surgical rooms between patients Maintain accurate clinical documentation Stock and organize clinical and surgical supplies Maintain a clean, safe, and professional clinical environment Work closely with the surgeon, clinical team, and front-office staff to maintain efficient patient flow Qualifications Previous dental assisting experience required; oral surgery experience strongly preferred Experience assisting with surgical procedures is highly desirable Current BLS/CPR certification preferred Dental radiology/X-ray training or certification as applicable Knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to anticipate the provider's needs during procedures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance Professional demeanor and strong teamwork skills Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care The Ideal Candidate Our ideal Oral Surgery Assistant is reliable, energetic, proactive, and team-oriented .
