Full-time or Part-time Join a Modern Oral Surgery Practice Greater Boston Oral Surgery & Implant Center is a growing, state-of-the-art oral surgery practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a compassionate and professional environment. We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and team-oriented Oral Surgery Assistant who takes pride in delivering an outstanding patient experience. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced surgical environment, value teamwork, and want to grow alongside a modern practice utilizing the latest technology, we'd love to meet you. Responsibilities- Prepare treatment rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, and surgical equipment.
- Assist the oral surgeon during wisdom tooth extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafting, full-arch implant surgery, exposure and bonding procedures, biopsies, and other oral surgery procedures.
- Obtain and review medical histories.
- Take digital radiographs, CBCT scans, and intraoral scans.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures, and assist the oral surgeon with IV sedation cases.
- Maintain a sterile operative field using proper surgical and aseptic technique.
- Educate patients regarding postoperative instructions and answer questions with professionalism and compassion.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Process and sterilize instruments according to OSHA, CDC, and infection control guidelines.
- Help ensure an efficient, organized, and positive clinical environment.
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols at all times. Qualifications
- Previous oral surgery assisting experience preferred.
- Current Massachusetts Dental Assistant certification/license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience with digital radiography and CBCT imaging.
- Experience with intraoral scanning is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, organized, and able to multitask efficiently.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
