The Surgical Coordinator for Surgical Services performs multiple clerical/secretarial duties and acts as a receptionist to patients, patient's significant other, physicians, personnel, and salespersons within the Crane Center for Day Surgery under the direction of the Vice President of Surgical or designee.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
(Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years clerical experience medical terminology and knowledge of surgical procedures/instrumentation/equipment desired. Familiarity with computers preferred compiling statistics.
Education and Training:
Associate degree in secretarial program preferred or equivalent experience.
License, Certification & Registration:
None.
Other Requirements:
Demonstrated interpersonal skills both written and oral, plus organizational skills. Ability to prioritize numerous tasks. Demonstrated ability to interact with patients/families, surgeons office staff and BMC departments in a gracious, polite and respectful manner. Excellent communication skills required. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to problem solve in conjunction with other team members. Must demonstrate professional behavior and appearance.
