Oral surgery assistant (operating room or surgical background preferred) The role You will assist a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon (DMD, MD) during IV sedation cases in a new ambulatory surgery center.

This is chairside surgical assisting:

setup, IV placement, monitoring, instrument handling, and recovery. You work directly with the surgeon on every case. Patients are sedated, so the work is focused on the surgery and the surgical field, not behavior management. We serve Medicaid/Medicare patients and the underserved. That is the point of this practice, and it is not a side mission. If that work does not motivate you, this is not your job. The facility itself is new and high-quality, state of the art, and we hold to that standard on every case. The pace is fast. This is a busy, high-volume surgery center. What you will do Set up the room and instruments before each case. Assist the surgeon chairside throughout the procedure. Monitor patients during and after surgery. Handle recovery and discharge. Place IVs (trained if you have not done it before). You will not do sterilization or room cleaning. Separate sterile technicians handle that. Your job is to assist and serve the patient! What you need Real experience in a surgical setting. That means the operating room, oral surgery, or a clinical dental setting. Medical OR experience is a plus. Prior oral surgery experience is a plus. You need to enjoy surgery, the blood and guts. This matters more than anything else on this list. If you don't like that stuff, you will be disappointed. IV placement is not required coming in. If you already have IV experience, that is a huge plus. What we cannot do is teach you a surgical environment from scratch. You need to already understand how one runs and be able to move at pace inside it. What we train Intraoperative monitoring, scrub and instrument handling for our cases, our recovery and discharge process, and IV technique. Schedule and setting Full-time, on-site. Hours are 6:30 a.m. to roughly 3:00 p.m. No call. This position starts late October or early November. You report directly to the oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
