About the Practice Old North Dentures & Implants is a new, high-tech dental implant surgery and prosthetics practice opening at 2100 S Miami Blvd, Durham this fall. We are fee-for-service — no insurance billing, no coding stress, no fighting with carriers. Our focus is transformative full-arch and single-tooth implant treatment, wisdom tooth removal, and sedation dentistry. We operate with state-of-the-art CBCT imaging, digital workflow, and 3D printing. We are building a small, tight-knit team from the ground up — which means you'll grow with us. The Role We are looking for an experienced, motivated Surgical Dental Assistant to be our lead chairside assistant. This is a hands-on surgical position: you will be by the doctor's side for every implant placement, bone graft, extraction, and IV sedation case. What You'll Do Provide four-handed chairside assistance for implant surgery, extractions, bone grafting, and sinus lifts Assist with IV conscious sedation: monitoring vitals (SpO2, blood pressure, EKG, EtCO2), documenting, and maintaining patient safety throughout Limited restorative dentistry Digital impressions using intraoral scanners Set up and break down surgical operatories with strict sterile technique and infection control protocols Sterilize, maintain, and track surgical instrument kits Take and process digital X-rays (PA, panoramic) and 3D CBCT scans as directed Assist with digital impressions and intraoral scanning Perform post-operative calls and educate patients on wound care, diet, and recovery Track and order surgical supplies and materials Prepare and maintain accurate surgical and sedation documentation

What We're Looking For Required:

2+ years of dental assisting experience in a surgical, oral surgery, or implant-focused setting North Carolina Dental Assistant II (DA II) Hands-on experience assisting with IV sedation and monitoring patient vitals Current CPR/BLS certification Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and sterile field management

Preferred:
