In this role, you will perform advanced intraoperative first-assist responsibilities, including tissue handling, suturing, and hemostasis, while helping prepare and maintain the sterile field and OR environment. Responsibilities Provide intraoperative first assist to surgeons, including tissue handling, suturing, and hemostasis Prepare operating room, instruments, and supplies according to surgical protocols Perform pre- and post-operative patient assessments and documentation Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures Monitor patient status and respond to changes during surgery under physician direction Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and sterile field standards Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and clinical best-practice initiatives Required Skills Surgical first-assist techniques (tissue handling, suturing, hemostasis) Operating room procedures and sterile technique Intraoperative patient monitoring and documentation Pre- and post-operative patient assessment Infection prevention and control in the ORUse and care of surgical instruments and equipment Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation OR safety, positioning, and equipment setup Interdisciplinary clinical communication Clinical decision-making under surgeon supervision
