Kettering Health, a faith-based healthcare organization, is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technician First Assist specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) procedures. This vital role supports the surgical team by providing direct assistance during surgeries, focusing on the latest cardiovascular techniques and patient care standards. Our mission is to promote healing in a compassionate environment, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and methodologies that align with our commitment to patient comfort and community health. Responsibilities Assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, nurses, or other surgical personnel. Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and sterile environment for cardiovascular surgeries. Help in draping and maintaining a sterile field during surgical procedures. Provide retraction, suturing, and tissue handling during surgeries to aid visual and operative access. Operate sterilizers, lights, or suction machines, and help operate diagnostic equipment during procedures. Ensure all medications are labeled and accounted for. Assist with the preparation, transport, and monitoring of patients. Participate in post-operative debriefings and equipment maintenance. Required Skills Proficiency in surgical technology Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures Ability to handle and maintain sterile equipment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Detail-oriented with strong observational skills
