Job Description

About the Role Molnar & Lee Oral Facial Surgery and Dental Implant Center (MLOMS) is a growing oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Ontario, Ohio. We're a single-surgeon office with a small, tight-knit team, and our surgical days cover the full scope of oral surgery: wisdom teeth and general extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, full-arch implant cases, biopsies, and IV sedation. We're looking for a surgical assistant to join our clinical team. Experienced oral surgery assistants are strongly preferred — but we will train the right person. If you're a certified dental assistant, or newer to the field with a genuine interest in surgery and a strong work ethic, we want to hear from you. We hire self-starters. This is a practice where you'll be given real ownership of your work rather than a checklist and a supervisor — and where you'll assist on the full range of oral surgery, not a narrow slice of it. What You'll Do Provide four-handed chairside assistance during surgical procedures — extractions, third molars, implant placement, bone grafting, and biopsies Set up and turn over surgical operatories between patients, maintaining strict aseptic technique and infection-control standards Support IV sedation cases: prepare the room and equipment, assist with patient monitoring, and help patients through recovery and discharge Take radiographs, including panoramic and CBCT (3D) imaging Review medical histories, take vital signs, and prepare patients — many of whom are anxious about surgery — with calm, clear communication Sterilize and process surgical instruments and maintain clinical equipment Document procedures accurately in our practice management software and maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) Keep operatories stocked and the surgical day running smoothly
What We're Looking For Required:
Ohio dental radiographer certification (dental x-ray license), or willingness to obtain it promptly — we'll support this CPR/BLS certification, or obtain upon hire Comfort in a surgical setting — blood, IV lines, and sedated patients are part of every day Reliability and precision — surgical assisting rewards attention to detail A self-starter's approach to work
Preferred:
Prior oral surgery or surgical assisting experience Certified or registered dental assistant credential Experience assisting with IV sedation or anesthesia (DAANCE certification a plus) Familiarity with dental imaging and oral surgery practice management software Growth Path For assistants who want to advance, we actively support continuing education in sedation and anesthesia assisting — including DAANCE certification and IV skills training. You'll learn the full breadth of oral and maxillofacial surgery working directly alongside the surgeon.
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Benefits:
Employee discount Free parking On-the-job training Paid time off Professional development assistance Retirement plan
Work Location:
