Duties Prepare treatment rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic technique is maintained at all times Assist oral surgeons and dentists during various surgical procedures including extractions, implants, and reconstructive surgeries by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and monitoring patient comfort Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology to aid diagnosis and treatment planning Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to accurately document procedures, patient information, and medical history while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen levels before, during, and after procedures to ensure patient safety Educate patients on post-operative care instructions while providing compassionate support throughout their visit Maintain infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting treatment areas, and following OSHA guidelines for aseptic technique Experience Proven experience working as a dental assistant in a clinical setting with exposure to surgical procedures Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix or Epic for efficient medical documentation Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security Hands-on experience with chairside assisting during complex surgeries including endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Prior experience working in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry environments is highly desirable Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in surgical dental care!
