Responsibilities Assist dentists during oral surgery procedures, including extractions, implants, and other surgical interventions, utilizing chairside assisting techniques. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) specifically Dentrix Ascend experience preferred, or similar software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures while providing compassionate patient care. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols. Support patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions, and assisting with appointment scheduling using patient management software. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Surgical Assistant or in a similar dental assisting role within a clinical setting. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and medical documentation standards. Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technologies. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting in various specialties such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals. Certification in X-ray safety or radiography is preferred; certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is a plus.
