Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic surgical environment and play a pivotal role supporting patient care as a skilled operating room technician. This contract opportunity is designed for those with experience in nursing (operating room technician) as well as both certified and non-certified surgical technologist backgrounds. You'll collaborate with experienced surgical teams to help ensure the highest standard of care and successful patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience as a Surgical Tech (certified or non-certified), or nursing experience specific to operating room technician duties Solid understanding of sterile technique, instrumentation, and surgical procedures across multiple specialties Ability to prepare and maintain a sterile field and assist the surgical team throughout procedures Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to remain focused under pressure Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and other team members Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start) Compliance with all health, safety, and confidentiality regulations

Responsibilities:

Prepare operating rooms and instruments according to procedure requirements Assist with patient positioning, ensure proper draping, and verify surgical site Hand surgical instruments and supplies to surgeons and nurses during procedures Monitor and maintain sterile fields throughout surgery Manage instrument counts and maintain accurate documentation as needed Support equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting Work closely with the surgical team to ensure quality patient care before, during, and after procedures
