Category Nursing - RN First Assist Job Type Contract Step into an essential role providing surgical assistance as a Registered Nurse First Assist on a dedicated 13-week contract. Schedule:

4 days per week, 10-hour shifts Day shift: 6:45am - 5:15pm No on-call requirements

Qualifications:

Active California RN license BLS certification (current) Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a First Assist RN in the operating room Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, instrumentation, and perioperative best practices

Responsibilities:

Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, utilizing advanced assessment and critical thinking skills Optimize patient safety through intraoperative support, including retraction, suturing, and instrumentation management Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary surgical team members to ensure optimal workflow and outcomes Provide pre- and post-operative assessments and collaborate on patient care planning Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements Keep current with advances in surgical nursing practices by participating in ongoing education and skill development
