Job Description
HCA Healthcare is seeking an OR Tech to support safe, efficient surgical care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will prepare and maintain operating rooms, ensure instruments and equipment are sterile and available, and assist surgeons and nurses throughout procedures. You'll uphold strict aseptic technique, manage room turnover, handle specimens, and support inventory management. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain operating rooms, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and functioning properly Assist surgeons and RNs during procedures by passing instruments and supplies Anticipate surgical team needs and maintain strict aseptic technique Perform pre-, intra-, and post-operative room turnover and equipment checks Handle and care for specimens according to protocol Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical instruments, supplies, and disposables Follow all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards Document procedures and equipment usage as required Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support safe, efficient surgical care Support onboarding and mentoring of new OR Techs as needed Required Skills Surgical instrumentation knowledge Aseptic and sterile technique Operating room equipment operation Surgical case setup and turnover Instrument sterilization processes Specimen handling and labeling Infection prevention and control Basic life support (BLS) Electronic health record (EHR) familiarity Operating room safety and regulatory compliance
