Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures
  • Set up surgical instruments and equipment
  • Ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available and in working order
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and other team members during surgery
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure
  • Assist with patient positioning and draping
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs during surgery
  • Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Assist with post-operative clean-up and equipment sterilization
Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting
  • Ability to analyze situations and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a surgical team
