Travelers Pay:
$2,300 weekly including stipend for 36 hours.JOB DESCRIPTION
Position- Certified Surgical Technologist Location
- 133 Old Road to 9 Acre Corner, Concord, MA 01742 Full Time
- 13 weeks contract Shift
- 12 hours day Weekly Hours
- 36 hours Call Required per
Rotation:
Call is rotating and assigned by the needs of the unit. Baseline call is approximately one day every other week as a backup to our staffed night shift and approximately one weekend call shift per month (24 hours). This will change depending on the needs of the unit and the OR reserves the right to assign additional call when needed.RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies. Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and functioning. Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures. Scrub in and assist surgeons during a wide variety of surgical procedures. Anticipate the surgeon's needs by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies efficiently. Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after procedures. Prepare and position patients for surgery while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Assist with draping patients and preparing the surgical site using aseptic technique. Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment, including electrosurgical units, suction devices, and power instruments. Handle surgical specimens according to facility protocols. Assist with hemostasis, wound dressing application, and postoperative room turnover. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, and other perioperative staff to ensure efficient workflow. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection prevention, OSHA, and AORN standards. Monitor sterile technique and immediately address any contamination issues. Participate in emergency and trauma procedures while maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.REQUIREMENT
