Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced professional with a blend of Nursing - ORT and Certified Surgical Tech skills for a contract opportunity in a dynamic surgical environment. This role is ideal for candidates enthusiastic about providing exceptional patient care and supporting successful surgical outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required Demonstrated competence in operating room technician duties and sterile technique Prior experience in a surgical setting preferred Understanding of aseptic technique, instrument handling, and surgical procedures Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures Effective communication and teamwork abilities Active BLS certification
Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the sterile field before and during surgical procedures Assist with equipment setup and ensure instruments are sterile and available Coordinate with surgical team to optimize patient safety and operating room efficiency Pass instruments, supplies, and medications to the surgeon during procedures Handle specimens according to proper protocols Provide direct assistance to the circulating nurse and support overall procedural flow Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments
