Day Job Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for providing age appropriate and culturally sensitive care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric perioperative patients. The goal of the Surgical Technologist is to provide care that will achieve a level of wellness equal to or greater than that which the patient had before their operative or other invasive procedure. Duties are of considerable difficulty and based on a thorough knowledge of interrelatedness of body systems and the technician's ability to effectively interact with patients, their designated support person(s), and other healthcare team members. The Surgical Technologist is required eight (8) call days per month, to include one (1) weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). They are responsible for completing all duties as assigned.Job Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma Successful completion of an accredited (CAAHEP, ABHES, etc.) Surgical Technologist program required.Experience:
One (1) year experience as a Surgical Technician preferred.- Required Licensure/Certification(s):
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) preferred.
- Current verification in Basic Life Support required.
