Under the direction of the department supervisor, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients.Minimum Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited two-year programRequired Licenses/Certifications:
CMRT, ARRT, BLS
certifications requiredWork Experience:
1 to 3 years radiology experience required with preference in hospital setting, including Surgical C-ArmEssential Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation Checklist.
- Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, surgery suites and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the
A.L.A.R.A.
(As low as reasonably achievable) standards.- Maintains radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.
- Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance.
- Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job related hazards.
- Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
- Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions.
- Wears proper identification while on duty.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
