2 Description American Traveler seeks a licensed Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with robotic, orthopedic, and trauma scrubbing experience for a 13-week Operating Room assignment in Virginia. Details Hospital Operating Room setting Shift hours vary based on facility need, with possible start times ranging from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM and shift lengths varying accordingly On-call shifts are available and require a minimum of 3-4 eight-hour call shifts per 6-week period, including overnight and weekend call windows Weekend shifts are not required but are available for those who wish to pick up additional hours Epic EMR is used; all travelers must attend either an accelerated or 2-day Epic orientation class prior to starting (travelers who were at this facility within the past 6 months may be exempt) Requirements Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience Active VA Board of Medicine (BOM) license required and must be in hand at time of consideration — pending licenses will not be accepted National CST certification required and must be active and in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required Ability to scrub robotic, orthopedic, and trauma cases On-call candidates must reside within 30 miles or 30 minutes of the facility Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration License required if applicable Additional Information Scrub a variety of surgical cases including robotic, orthopedic, and trauma procedures Floating may be required on a rotational basis in accordance with facility policy and Joint Commission standards Up to 7 hours of non-billable orientation modules are required and completed during onboarding Flu vaccine is required during flu season (October 1 - March 31); exemptions are subject to CMS guideline review COVID vaccination verification or an approved exemption is required This is a smoke- and nicotine-free facility Candidates who were previously employed at this facility must wait one year before returning as a traveler RTO requests must be submitted upfront; no RTO will be approved after an offer is made, and time off is granted at manager discretion — candidates should expect to work some holidays and keep RTO to a minimum
