PeaceHealth is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our OR team at United General Medical Center in Sedro Wooley, Washington.
Role:
1.0FTE Surgical Technologist Schedule:
Four 10-hour Day shifts each week, 0630-1700. No weekends, no nights, and no call requiredUnit:
2OR Suites Hospital:
25 bed critical access hospital The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $38.22 - $57.34. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, and Surgical Technologist work experience. •Hiring Bonus & Relocation Assistance May Be Available •Job Summary This position is responsible for assisting the Surgical team during operative procedures by performing a variety of technical duties to primarily assist in responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the surgical sterile field for the operative patient. Essential Functions Arrange and inventories sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the surgical team. Understand and the principles of asepsis. Establish and maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment. Assist in preparation and moving of patients. Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation. Assists with clean-up and room turnover. Accessputer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images. Participates in all safety initiatives. Ads to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired:
Completion of a Surgical Technology program or a minimum of 1-year Surgical Technology work experienceRequired:
A Washington State Surgical Technologist RegistrationRequired:
Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support CertificationRequired:
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.Preferred:
1 year experience as a surgical technologist in a full-service operating roomPreferred:
Certified Surgical Technologist Skills Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated (Required) Ability to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with others (Required) Ability to execute detailed procedures with accuracy and precision (Required) Basicputer/keyboarding skills including MS Office applications (Required) Understanding of operating room protocols (Required) Working Conditions Lifting Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures. Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. Frequent reaching/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling/ grasping.Lift/Carry:
Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 20 lbs.Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 20 lbs. force. Occasional up to 30 lbs. force Environmental Conditions Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting. Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
