Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) What You'll Do As a CV Technologist Certified, you'll play an essential role in supporting cardiovascular surgical procedures and ensuring a safe, efficient, and sterile operating room environment. Working under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse, you'll use your specialized surgical knowledge and technical skills to support invasive procedures and promote patient safety. Assist with cardiovascular surgical procedures by performing the technical and physical functions required of a Certified Surgical Technologist. Prepare and maintain the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies to support safe and effective surgical procedures. Apply knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment. Utilize knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, equipment, and technology to support the surgical team. Operate healthcare equipment safely and effectively using appropriate technical and cognitive skills. Ensure equipment and surgical supplies are properly prepared and available for procedures. Clean and restock sterile core areas and operating rooms to maintain readiness for surgical procedures. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, surgical staff, patients, and other members of the healthcare team. Remain professional and adaptable when communicating and working in a variety of emotional and high-pressure situations. Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, teamwork, and quality throughout all surgical procedures. What We're Looking For Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) or Surgical Technologist (ST) program. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in Surgery as a Certified Surgical Technologist. Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required. Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Employees hired into the position as of January 1, 2016, are required to obtain certification within six months of hire. Strong knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and operating room practices. Ability to safely operate and utilize healthcare equipment and surgical technology. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team. Ability to read, write, speak, hear, and comprehend the English language. Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in a fast-paced surgical environment.
