In your role, you will: Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures. Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information. Reload prior exams for comparison. Explain the examination process to the patient. Instruct and assist the patient in assuming the physical position for examination and throughout the procedure. Assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure- makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
Qualifications:
Education High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required One of the following is required Successful completion of an Allied Health Education Program (this includes but not limited to Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Radiologic Technologist, Respiratory Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Registered Nurse) and 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/cardiac/vascular experience Attending a CAAHEP-approved or CMA-approved ultrasound/cardiac/vascular technology education program Bachelor's Degree and 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/cardiac/vascular experience Licenses and Certifications BLS- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required One of the following is required within 1 year of hire or transfer into position RDMS
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer RVT
- ARDMS Registered Vascular Tech RDCS
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer ARRT(S)
- ARRT Sonography ARRT(VS)
