Job Description:
Works a flexible schedule as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Ensures the room is prepared with all necessary equipment and supplies for each procedure. Takes call on weekends, rotating included, and performs emergency procedures while meeting on-call requirements. Transfers images to PACS, updates logs, and performs other duties as assigned by the tech manager or director. Collaborates effectively with a multi-disciplinary team. Performs hemodynamic and patient monitoring functions during procedures. Scrubs in and performs clinical procedures independently, obtaining anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for physician interpretation. Manages high-stress situations such as codes, STEMIs, and emergencies with skill and knowledge to scrub and monitor independently. Prepares the room in a timely manner with all anticipated equipment, instruments, and supplies for each procedure. Cleans after cases, including emptying trash, cleaning sterile tables, and transferring patients. Stocks equipment and ensures availability for procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of medical technology and terminology [Required] Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills [Required] Desire to learn and upgrade clinical skills [Required] Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows [Required] Understanding of current JCAHO Standards for the clinical aspect of the department [Required] Ability to manipulate the Image Intensifier and pan the table independently [Required] Critical thinking capabilities [Required] Manual dexterity for sterile manipulation [Required] Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English [Required] Initiative, self-motivation, and a positive service orientation [Required] Excellent customer service skills [Required] Openness to constructive criticism and the ability to apply it to improve skills [Required] Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet usage [Required] Exceptional organization and communication abilities [Required] Time management skills, including inductive and deductive reasoning [Required] Knowledge of sterility principles [Required] Knowledge of how to scrub in and understand hemodynamics, with a willingness to teach motivated individuals [Required]
