General Statement of Duties:

The Sonographer performs general to vascular ultrasound services and procedures. The Sonographer will demonstrate and maintain the technical skills needed to perform ultrasound procedures on the patients served by the department. Exams to be performed are Abdomens, Carotids, Thyroids, and Liver Elastography. In addition, the Sonographer will maintain department supplies and equipment and will participate in the quality control of the ultrasound department. This is a one-person department in Vidalia, so you'll have full ownership of it and the autonomy to run things your way, with the responsibility that comes with it. We're willing to have a part-time role where you determine the 2-3 days you want to work.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintains skills and understanding of innovation in techniques and equipment for medical sonography procedures performed. Performs basic to advanced vascular ultrasound procedures utilizing various equipment and techniques while providing the necessary measurements required for the interpretation to obtain accurate, high-quality results. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to the population(s) served by the department. Records statistics and performs daily maintenance of the ultrasound lab and equipment, reporting all malfunctions as appropriate. Assist physicians in preparing and submitting reports. Key Success Factors Ability to explain the purpose of the ultrasound examination to the patient and answer patients' questions. Knowledge of HIPAA laws. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with healthcare providers, including other sonographers, physicians, and nurses.

Qualifications:

One of the following is required : Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS, Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) from CCI.

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
