•RWJBarnabas Health A typical day for an Ultrasound Technologist may include: Performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established department protocols.

Operating ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by physicians.

Positioning and preparing patients for examinations while explaining procedures and answering questions.

Reviewing patient histories and clinical information to ensure the appropriate examination is performed.

Selecting and adjusting equipment settings to optimize image quality.

Recognizing and documenting relevant anatomical structures and abnormalities for physician interpretation.

Maintaining accurate patient records and documenting examinations in the appropriate systems.

Following infection prevention, patient safety, and radiation/imaging safety standards.

Collaborating with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.

Maintaining ultrasound equipment and reporting equipment issues or malfunctions as needed.

To be considered for this Ultrasound Technologist opportunity:

Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Ultrasound program.

Appropriate certification/registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, such as ARDMS, as required for the position. Jersey licensure or other applicable credentials, when required.

Previous clinical or hospital ultrasound experience may be preferred.

Strong knowledge of ultrasound procedures, anatomy, and patient-care practices.

Successful completion of required orientation and department training.

Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and members of the healthcare team.

Ability to work the required schedule, including weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities when applicable. RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer
