Hackensack, NJ Job Details Per diem $49 - $59 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Anatomy knowledge Teamwork Attention to detail Hospital experience Sonography Full Job Description Role Description Hudson Valley Staffing Inc. is seeking an experienced Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to support a vascular practice in Hackensack, NJ. The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist will perform non-invasive vascular diagnostic studies to assist physicians in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with arterial and venous disease. Responsibilities include performing high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations, preparing and positioning patients, obtaining accurate measurements and diagnostic images, documenting preliminary findings, and ensuring studies are completed according to established vascular laboratory protocols. The technologist will work closely with vascular physicians and the clinical team to provide efficient, professional, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities include:
Perform peripheral arterial and venous duplex ultrasound examinations. Perform venous insufficiency/reflux studies. Perform carotid duplex examinations. Perform ABI/PVR and other non-invasive vascular testing when required. Obtain accurate Doppler waveforms, velocities, measurements, and diagnostic images. Recognize normal and abnormal vascular anatomy and hemodynamics. Prepare and position patients appropriately for vascular examinations. Accurately document studies and preliminary technical findings according to facility protocols. Communicate significant or urgent findings promptly to the appropriate physician or clinical team. Maintain ultrasound equipment and report equipment or image-quality concerns. Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and facility policies. Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation. Provide professional, respectful, and patient-centered care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent vascular ultrasound program. RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) through ARDMS preferred. RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) through CCI may also be considered. Demonstrated experience performing vascular ultrasound examinations. Strong knowledge of peripheral arterial and venous anatomy, vascular pathology, Doppler principles, and hemodynamics. Experience with venous reflux, arterial duplex, venous duplex/DVT, and carotid studies preferred. Experience with ABI/PVR testing is a plus. Ability to obtain consistent, high-quality diagnostic images and measurements. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established vascular laboratory protocols. Excellent communication and patient-care skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and other members of the clinical team. Prior experience in a vascular practice, vascular laboratory, hospital, OBL, or outpatient setting preferred.
