Job Description

Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the diagnostic imaging staff in alignment with the mission, values and goals of the organization. Gives work direction to assigned personnel and participates in the operation of providing ultrasound diagnostic services to both inpatients and outpatients. Serves as the liaison between management, staff and physicians.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Acts as the contact person for ultrasound technologists. 2. Performs diagnostic procedures applying prescribed methods of ultrasound technique. 3. Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns. 4. Ensures ultrasound-related supply levels are always adequate. 5. Reports any equipment failures to the concerned department(s). 6. Prioritizes and disseminates tasks to others, trains staff in established and new procedures, ensures clinical staff competency and protocol, coordinates employee time off requests with operational needs and resolves departmental operational problems. 7. Participates in the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures related to ultrasound. 8. Coordinates patient flow and expedites patient care by coordinating workflow within the department, problem solving and adapting staff schedules for volumes of the day. 9. Maintains the daily staff schedule for all positions, coordinating coverage for vacations, sick time, etc. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. Associate's /Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience in imaging or a related field. 2. Current applicable state licensure in Diagnostic Sonography and national registration in Sonography (ARDMS or ARRT). 3. BLS/CPR Certification. 4. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Certification. 5. 4 years experience in Sonography, imaging services or related field.
Preferred:
1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in imaging or related fields. 2. 6 years of experience in the appropriate modality field of imaging or related fields. 3. 2+ years of leadership/supervisory experience.
