at Northeastern Reproductive Medicine in Colchester, Vermont, United States Job Description Full job description Fertility Sonographer Background & Purpose of the Job Northeastern Reproductive Medicine is a growing, thriving, fertility practice in Colchester, VT. As part of Northeastern Reproductive Medicine, this role will support NRM and its patients. The purpose of the Sonographer role is to provide thorough scanning and evaluation of the pelvic anatomy. The ideal candidate for this position has a comforting and positive attitude, excellent communication skills to patients and staff, and leads with support. This role reports to the Nurse Practitioner/APP.
Job responsibilities:
Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic OB/GYN and Infertility ultrasound procedures independently, including gynecology and first trimester OB exams Obtain accurate and consistent measurements of pelvic anatomy relevant to fertility Analyze sonograms and communicate findings to providers Assist in the operating room performing ultrasound procedures as needed Educate and teach ultrasound technology to nurses and staff as deemed necessary Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients and prepare patients for what to expect by explaining procedures Provide compassionate, pleasant, and top notch care to all patients Build trust and rapport with patients, especially with those with high anxiety and stress related to their exams Perform quality checks on equipment and ensure equipment is running optimally Own and manage the Ultrasound scheduling, ensuring optimal flow for NRM and patients Ownership of all Ultrasound processes and procedures, continuously improving and refining, and/or developing new ones to provide the best experience to patients while meeting NRM's needs Ensure prompt submission of high quality images and documents into EMR Participate in ongoing continuing education and training to maintain areas of expertise and learn new skills Evaluate current equipment and necessity for new equipment What You Need to Succeed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification in OB/GYN Ability to function independently Experience with patient care Experience creating and implementing process improvement solutions Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment 2 years experience in OB/GYN or Fertility practice preferred Ability to work on-call schedule one weekend per month. This is 4-8 hours total across Saturday and Sunday (2-4 hrs/day), with an abridged regular weekly schedule to accommodate flexibility.
