We are a small, privately owned dog and cat hospital, and we are looking for someone who enjoys practicing in a collaborative environment and building lasting relationships with clients and their pets. The ideal candidate is confident practicing independently while also being comfortable working closely with our veterinary support team. We see a variety of wellness, sick, same-day, walk-in, and urgent care appointments, in addition to performing surgical procedures. Responsibilities Perform thorough physical examinations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans. Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions in dogs and cats. Provide wellness and preventative care, including vaccinations and routine health screenings. Evaluate and treat same-day, walk-in, and urgent care cases during regular business hours. Perform routine surgical procedures and provide appropriate pre- and post-operative care. Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as indicated. Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, recommendations, and follow-up care. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records. Work collaboratively with veterinary technicians and support staff to provide efficient, high-quality patient care. Stay current with developments in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education as desired. Qualifications & Skills Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree. Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of California. Comfortable treating dogs and cats in a general practice setting. Strong clinical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable performing routine surgical procedures or willing to grow these skills within our practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and team members. Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused approach to veterinary care. Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a small team. A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive, respectful work environment.
