Full-time Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team at Value Pet Vet Clinic. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician and be comfortable working with both dogs and cats. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinarians with surgical preparations, including surgical prep and post-operative care. Additionally, you will be responsible for tasks such as restraint, blood draws, vaccine administration, and maintaining detailed medical records. Must be comfortable in surgical environment. Fast paced is our game and we require multi tasking with extreme accuracy. Please

Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians with surgical preparations, including surgical prep and post-operative care.
  • Perform blood draws, vaccine administration, and other medical procedures as directed by veterinarians. Have familiarity with assisting DVM's with xrays, ultrasounds and dentals. Along with spays/neuters and soft tissue surgeries.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and their owners.
  • Educate clients on preventative care, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and treatment areas.
  • Collaborate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician.
  • Comfortable working with both dogs and cats.
  • Proficient in surgical prep, blood draws, vaccine administration, and other medical procedures.
  • Knowledgeable about vaccines, surgical procedures, and preventatives.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be available to work on site, Dayville, CT
  • Flexibility to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and one Saturday a month from 10 am to 2 pm.
  • occasional assistance with front desk and check in and check out process-team players.
