Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as an Associate Veterinarian specializing in Small Animal medicine! This exciting role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality care to pets and their owners while working in a collaborative, supportive environment. You will be instrumental in diagnosing, treating, and managing a variety of small animal cases, ensuring the best outcomes for our furry patients. We are committed to fostering your professional growth and supporting your passion for veterinary medicine through ongoing learning and development. We are a group of 4 small animal hospitals. Our practices located in North Haven, Hamden and Killingworth CT. They are privately owned , not a corporation. We have a dedicated clientele and ample talented and long time support staff. We practice the highest quality medicine, dentistry and surgery with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, anesthetic monitors, doppler, Tonopen and full in house diagnostic laboratory. We have a visiting internal medicine specialist, surgeon and cardiologist weekly . We offer excellent salary and benefits (health ,dental and vision insurance, professional dues, continuing education, liability insurance, license fees, retirement plan with company match, sick, vacation and holiday pay). 4 day work week (for full time), no overnight or on call and closed Sundays and Holidays (several 24 hour emergency and specialty referral centers are close by). Ridgehill Animal Hospital, North Haven Merryfield Veterinary Hospital, Hamden Mount Carmel Veterinary Hospital, Hamden Killingworth Animal Hospital, Killingworth Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice veterinary medicine. Proven veterinary experience with a focus on small animal practice; Proficiency in veterinary surgery, dentistry, cardiology, oncology, internal medicine, and anesthesiology. Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary care. Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and adherence to clinical ethical guidelines. Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration. Ability to handle animals safely using aseptic techniques and maintain animal husbandry standards. Experience with emergency medicine, critical & intensive care environments preferred; equine experience is a bonus but not required.
