A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Job Description

Veterinary Technician and or Receptionist:
Garrison Animal Hospital is looking for a veterinarian technician/receptionist to be a member of our team that provides a high quality of care and makes a positive impact on the lives of pets and their owners. The candidate should be confident, independent and reliable with good communication skills. Passion for animals and the the desire to learn and grow in the industry is a plus. This is a fun place to work with unique perks.
Responsibilities:
Good communication and professional skills include asking and clarifying questions and concerns of pet clients, including medical history, medications, procedures, and treatments. Assist the Veterinarian with safe restraint for injections, medications and routine procedures. Assist with taking diagnostic tests and X-Rays. Able to learn and understand medical records, computerized medical information and invoicing. Assist with procedures by preparing animals and instruments for surgery according to our clinic routine, and monitoring vital signs. (technician) Explaining to clients discharge instructions and home care. Open Monday - Friday, 8-5' '
