Hands-On Clinical Experience | $250-$500 Weekly Stipend | Flexible 2-4 Week Experience If you want to spend your externship standing quietly in the corner and watching from across the room, this probably isn't the experience for you. We're inviting veterinary students to step into the day-to-day life of a locally owned small animal and exotic practice-where you'll be welcomed into the team, encouraged to ask questions, and given opportunities to actively participate in cases under the guidance of experienced veterinarians. You'll work alongside four DVMs with more than 70 years of combined clinical experience. Our doctors practice high-quality medicine, enjoy teaching, and understand that the best mentorship goes beyond explaining what they're doing. They'll help you strengthen your clinical reasoning, build practical skills, communicate confidently with clients, and begin discovering the kind of veterinarian you want to become. This Is More Than a Shadowing Experience Depending on your experience, comfort level, and school requirements, you'll have opportunities to participate in: Companion animal and exotic appointments Patient examinations and case workups Diagnostic planning and interpretation Treatment plan development Surgery and dentistry Client education and communication Medical record documentation Collaborative case discussions The real workflow and decision-making of general practice You won't be expected to know everything. Flexible scheduling:

Externships are generally scheduled in two- to four-week blocks , with dates coordinated around school requirements and clinic availability.
