Description Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency (CASE) is seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained, Board-Eligible Veterinary Surgeon to join our collaborative, multi-specialty team in Hickory, North Carolina. This role is available full-time or part-time and offers the opportunity to practice advanced surgery in a highly equipped, referral-driven hospital with a long-standing reputation for excellence. Our Core Values Compassionate Care Always Prepared Supportive Excellence Walk Into an Immediate, High-Volume Caseload This is a rare opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join a hospital with immediate case demand and proven growth potential. Due to the strength of our referral network and current surgeon capacity, we are currently turning away 3-5 surgical cases each day. A second surgeon will have the opportunity to step into an already established, high-volume caseload from day one, with strong support from emergency clinicians, specialty partners, and an experienced technical team. The Medicine You'll Practice You'll step into an exciting and diverse surgical caseload supported by specialists, emergency clinicians, and a deeply skilled support team. Our collaborative environment allows you to focus on medicine while knowing your patients receive exceptional care 24/7.
Surgical & Diagnostic Capabilities Include:
Fully equipped surgical suites with on-site CT Digital radiography, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and minimally invasive surgery GE Logiq ultrasound systems Advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgery support LigaSure, GIA staplers, PoliPhase sealant, and comprehensive surgical instrumentation Canine and feline transfusion capabilities State-of-the-art anesthesia monitoring and pain management Ideal Candidate DVM (or equivalent) from an accredited veterinary school DACVS or residency-trained and board-eligible in veterinary surgery Passion for advanced, high-quality medicine Strong communicator with a professional, team-oriented approach Interest in mentorship, collaboration, and clinical excellence Leadership-minded candidates encouraged to apply Collaborative, Multi-Specialty Team You'll work alongside a highly engaged team that includes specialists in: Internal Medicine Behavior Rehabilitation Emergency & Critical Care This collaborative approach ensures every patient receives thoughtful, comprehensive care—and every clinician has support.
