Responsibilities:

• Provide medical care and treatment to a variety of animals, including domestic pets, livestock, and wildlife
• Perform routine check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care for animals
• Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and diseases in animals
• Conduct surgical procedures as needed
• Prescribe medications and administer treatments to animals
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care for animals
• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients

Requirements:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
• Valid state veterinary license
• Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry
• Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques
• Proficiency in performing diagnostic tests and interpreting laboratory results
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques for surgical procedures
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and staff members
• Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations
• Willingness to stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in equine or large animal medicine
