A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Job Description

We are searching for surgeons - but not necessarily those that are boarded. If you are an experienced surgeon who loves the work and much prefers it to seeing appointments daily, please reach out! We are building a facility that will support 3 surgeons in NM and/or TX. Final site has not been selected as we want to see where the surgeon would prefer to be located. Looking at Albuquerque NM, Amarillo TX or Lubbock TX, but open to looking at other locations. Urgent surgeries only, no routine spays/neuters, no appointments, no general care. Building strong support team for each surgeon - 5 veterinary techs/assistants, 1 Receptionist and one manager. Owner is an experienced veterinarian who has many year's of experience and owned/ran a successful multi-doctor general practice that sold last year. She loves surgery and understands those who would prefer to do surgery every day.
Capabilities:
wants experienced surgeon that loves the work. Does not need to be boarded. Medical Director level would be nice or someone who would like to be in a leadership position. The first person on board will be able to help create facility, surgery templates, go home instructions, marketing, etc. Plan is 4-6 surgeries per day depending on surgeon and type of case. Excellent, competitive compensation: Base plus production. Additional stipend per month for leadership role. Relocation/sign on available. Marketing - will be done to all general practices in market area. Referral cases only.
