A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

This role serves as an essential member of the veterinary medical team by assisting with treatments, procedures, surgery, patient monitoring, and client communication. Key Responsibilities Support veterinarians by assisting with patient care, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures. Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records. Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients. Educate clients on preventive care, treatment plans, hospital services, and wellness programs. Maintain clean, organized, and safe treatment areas, exam rooms, and laboratory spaces. Utilize veterinary technical skills in accordance with state practice regulations. Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program, or equivalent education and experience.
