Job Description Pawleys Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinarian to join our team. Pawleys Veterinary Hospital , located on Pawleys Island, South Carolina, is less than 5 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the South Strand! We have a large number of excellent restaurants, a river walk, and a marsh walk all within a 15-20-minute drive. North of town, Brookgreen Gardens has a zoo, a collection of world class outdoor sculptures, elaborate gardens, and hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year. Across the street, Huntington Beach State Park is home to a large campground, Atalaya, a Moorish-style castle, walking trails, wetlands and a beach with lifeguards during the summer season. It is a favorite location for bird watchers year-round and alligators can be easily found during the warmer months. If you are looking for more attractions, Myrtle Beach is just a short 30-minute drive north and Charleston, with all its culture and history, are just 90 minutes south of town. Perhaps the best part of Pawleys Island is its small town, laid back atmosphere, even during the height of the summer visitor season. The schools K-12 are highly rated and are all within a 2.5-mile radius of each other. Pawleys Island is known for being arrogantly shabby. As an Associate Veterinarian, you will enjoy: Base Salary + production $10,000 relocation bonus Benefits package including health, dental, vision, ancillary coverage & 401K Attractive PTO and a work schedule that encourages a healthy work-life balance. A weekday off and rotating Saturdays (half-day) are possible with a typical work schedule. After hour emergencies are referred to a local emergency clinic - no after-hours call is required. $2,500 allowance and time off for CE and State licensing, DEA, liability insurance and association membership dues are also provided. Our multi-doctor practice enjoys the support of a well-trained and highly utilized technical support staff along with high-quality diagnostic, treatment, and surgical equipment, allowing you to practice in an encouraging, supportive environment. To provide our gold standard quality of medicine, we are equipped with a full array of diagnostic tools and services including: Digital radiography, including digital dental radiography Ultrasound Idexx in-house analyzers Paperless Records The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for the medical and surgical care of our patients. This includes maintaining good client relationships through effective communication regarding their pets' health and medical needs. Medical records are maintained in an accurate manner and estimates are presented to clients in advance of care, as appropriate. The Associate Veterinarian is considered a member of the hospital's leadership team and is therefore responsible for helping to promote the hospital's core values and culture.
Skills and Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of South Carolina (or eligible for a temporary license pending a permanent license) Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics excellent verbal and written communication, ability to be empathetic and compassionate, and outstanding collaboration with other members of the Pawleys Veterinary Hospital family Please visit our website at http://pawleysveterinaryhospital.com for more information!
