Safari is a unique independently owned practice opportunity founded over 40 years ago by Dr. Steven Garner, DVM, DABVP as a small animal / exotic animal practice that has now grown into one of the most respected animal hospitals for the diagnosis and treatment of dogs, cats, primates, birds, reptiles, and other exotics in the Houston area. We are looking for an associate to provide wellness services, routine illness and soft tissue surgery for our League City and Pearland locations. The hospital has highly trained staff cross-trained in multiple departments and is well equipped with diagnostic equipment. Complex cases are referred internally to the League City location. Continuing education is constant at Safari with weekly 4-hour in-service full staff training meetings and generous funds budgeted for major conferences as well as focused education on ultrasound, echocardiology, orthopedic and neurosurgery and exotic animal medicine. We do not participate in Pro-Sal compensation plans as we do not believe it is ethical to motivate veterinary behavior with money. We will not make you sign a non-compete clause like the corporate practices do. We will pay you between $130,000 and $250,000 dollars per year based on your achievements and experience as a veterinarian, not on production. Full time schedule will typically be three 12-hour days "ON" then three and one half or four days "OFF" with one half day for training in between. We are also open to part time schedules, to be discussed at interview. Dr. Garner has over 40 years of clinical experience and is an excellent teacher for those seeking mentorship but plans to retire within the next few years so now is the perfect time to join our practice.
