Job Description

Associate Veterinarian | Poultney, VT We are working on behalf of a privately owned, non-corporate small animal general practice in Poultney, VT that is ready to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its growing team. This is a busy, well established two-doctor hospital with the caseload and infrastructure to support a third doctor, offering high quality, relationship based medicine without corporate metrics or a numbers game. Doctors here practice thorough, workup driven medicine with generous appointment times, strong client education, and real freedom to develop niche clinical interests such as reproduction, rehabilitation, integrative medicine, or added surgical work. The practice is well equipped with digital radiography, an in-house lab, ultrasound, and full dental radiography, and is midway through a significant expansion that will add exam rooms and dedicated doctor work space. The schedule is built around quality of life, with four day work weeks, a light shared Saturday rotation, protected charting time each afternoon, and no on-call, no after-hours emergencies, and no overnight hospitalization. Whether you are an experienced DVM or a newer graduate looking for genuine mentorship, the owner is committed to teaching, to autonomy paired with accountability, and to doing right by patients and clients. This is a rare chance to join a stable, supportive team in a beautiful rural setting close to the Vermont and New York border.
