A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Job Description

Semex is a dynamic global organization that is committed to developing and delivering innovative genetic solutions. Our Boviteq USA division offers reproductive and genetic solutions to North American clients from its world-class In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) labs in Madison, WI, Turlock, CA, Syracuse, NY, and Jerome, ID. Working with accredited OPU (Ovum Pick Up) centers and veterinarians across the U.S., clients can take advantage of Boviteq's innovative reproductive technologies. Boviteq is seeking a summer OPU intern with interest in advanced reproductive technologies in cattle to spend 12 weeks with 3 different Boviteq accredited OPU veterinarian partners, giving students an opportunity to learn valuable career skills and work alongside the industry's best professionals. This internship will include training near our US headquarters in Madison Wisconsin, followed by 4 week blocks spent at two other locations within the US. Travel and accommodation will be provided as well as a weekly stipend. Following completion of the internship, students will have the opportunity to meet quarterly with the Boviteq team to discuss topics related to launching their own OPU business. This is an excellent opportunity for mentorship with practitioners that currently run successful practices focused on providing advanced reproductive technologies. Upon successful completion of the internship, quarterly meetings, and veterinary school, the student will earn free admission to Boviteq's OPU accreditation course.

Resume noting any experience in large animal work or advanced reproduction. Cover letter detailing your career plans, specifically as it relates to use of advanced reproductive technology in cattle and how working with Boviteq could help you to achieve your career ambitions. A letter of recommendation from a practitioner or faculty member. Job Requirements Individuals must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited program and have completed 2nd year of veterinary school by May 2027. Have a strong desire to practice advanced reproductive technologies, including OPU and ET, immediately following graduation from veterinary school.
