Responsibilities Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health issues in a variety of animals, including companion animals and exotic species. Perform surgical procedures such as spaying, neutering, wound repair, and other veterinary surgeries with precision and care. Administer anesthesia safely using general anesthesia techniques and monitor animal physiology throughout procedures. Provide emergency medicine and critical care to stabilize seriously ill or injured animals promptly. Utilize veterinary terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions to pet owners. Handle animal restraint effectively to ensure safety during examinations and procedures while minimizing stress for the animals. Maintain detailed medical records following clinical ethical guidelines and aseptic techniques to ensure high standards of animal care. Collaborate with team members on internal medicine cases, oncology treatments, cardiology assessments, and dentistry procedures. Communicate clearly with clients about pet health concerns, treatment options, and preventive care strategies. Stay current with veterinary medicine advancements by engaging in laboratory experience, continuing education, and applying best practices in veterinary critical care. Skills Extensive veterinary experience with proficiency in animal handling, restraint, and catheterization techniques across various species. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, cardiology, oncology, and emergency medicine. Skilled in anesthesiology including general anesthesia administration and monitoring vital signs during procedures. Familiarity with exotic animal medicine as well as companion animal medicine to provide versatile care options. Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and adherence to clinical ethical guidelines in all aspects of practice. Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners on health issues and preventive measures effectively. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in critical & intensive care settings while maintaining compassion for animals and their families. Knowledge of laboratory procedures relevant to diagnosing diseases and monitoring treatment progress. Experience working with diverse animals such as dogs, cats, horses (equine experience preferred), and exotic species.
