Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment HVAC Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of equipment used in construction, agriculture, and industrial settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery, utilize your mechanical and electrical skills, and contribute to the seamless operation of heavy equipment fleets. Duties Diagnose and repair HVAC systems on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, tractors, and other industrial machinery using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC components including filters, fans, compressors, condensers, and thermostats to prevent breakdowns. Fabricate custom brackets or parts as needed using hand tools, welding techniques, and fabrication equipment to ensure proper fit and function. Conduct electrical diagnostics on HVAC systems involving wiring harnesses, relays, sensors, and control modules to identify faults accurately. Service and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, steering systems, and other mechanical components of heavy machinery. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators or forklifts safely during maintenance procedures to access hard-to-reach areas or perform lifts. Read schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues related to HVAC systems or other mechanical/electrical components. Perform tire service, welding repairs, soldering tasks, and general vehicle maintenance to keep machinery operational in demanding environments. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members regarding ongoing issues or safety concerns. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive background working with OEM equipment brands like Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery manufacturers. Strong fabrication skills utilizing power tools such as welders, grinders, drills, and soldering equipment. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators and forklifts for maintenance access purposes. Expertise in reading schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams related to HVAC components. Mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, automotive diagnostics, transmissions, suspension systems, air brakes, and alignment procedures. Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulics and suspension issues on heavy machinery with a focus on safety and efficiency. Experience with diesel engine repair alongside general automotive repair skills including brake repair and tire service. Ability to perform welding tasks for structural repairs or fabrication projects involving steel or aluminum materials. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices for tractor-trailers or similar large vehicles used in industrial settings. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients when needed.
