Heavy Equipment Operator - 2nd Shift

Job description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Crane Operator to operate a large stationary/mobile crane in an active metal recycling yard. This role involves using a crane to load and unload scrap metal, sort materials, and support daily recycling operations.

This is a hands-on, industrial position and is not entry-level. Applicants must have prior experience operating heavy equipment or cranes in a production environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

Operate a crane to move, sort, and load scrap metal safely and efficiently. Load and unload trucks and containers using the crane. Stage and position materials throughout the recycling yard. Perform daily inspections and basic preventive maintenance on the crane. Communicate with ground personnel to ensure safe, coordinated lifts. Follow all safety rules, OSHA requirements, and company policies.

What We're Looking For:

Prior experience operating a crane or similar heavy equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort around large machinery. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work overtime when required.
