Coaching (Stipend Position) Position Summary The Head Boys Soccer Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and sustaining a competitive high school soccer program that reflects the values, policies, and expectations of Paris High School and the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. The coach will ensure that all aspects of the program operate with integrity, accountability, and a strong emphasis on student-athlete academic success and character development. Primary Responsibilities Program Leadership Organize and oversee all aspects of the boys' soccer program (varsity and feeder alignment) Develop a clear vision and structure for long-term program success Establish and enforce team rules, expectations, and culture Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches Compliance and KHSAA Expectations Maintain full compliance with all Kentucky High School Athletic Association bylaws, including: Student-athlete eligibility (academic, age, and enrollment requirements) Transfer and residency regulations Practice and season limitations Dead period and contact rules Complete all required coaching certifications (including safety and rules clinics) Ensure accurate and timely submission of rosters, eligibility documentation, and required reports Promote sportsmanship and ethical conduct at all times Academic Accountability Monitor the academic progress of all student-athletes Enforce school and team academic expectations (aligned with "No Pass, No Play" standards) Coordinate with teachers, counselors, and administration to support student success Implement study hall, tutoring, or intervention structures as needed Player Development Plan and implement effective daily practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and game strategy Teach fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship Evaluate player performance and provide ongoing feedback Promote multi-level development (middle school, JV, varsity alignment) Game Management Prepare team for competition through scouting and film review Manage in-game strategy, substitutions, and adjustments Ensure proper supervision and conduct of players during contests Model professionalism with officials, opponents, and spectators Safety and Supervision Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes at all times Maintain up-to-date emergency procedures and first aid protocols Supervise athletes before, during, and after practices and contests Community and Program Engagement Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members Communicate effectively regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates Support fundraising efforts and program sustainability Promote the soccer program within the school and the local community Qualifications Previous coaching experience in soccer is preferred Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategy, and player development Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor student-athletes Knowledge of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association rules and regulations Completion (or willingness to complete) required KHSAA coaching certifications Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and administration Expectations Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and accountability at all times Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes Maintain high expectations for both athletic and academic performance Uphold all school, district, and Kentucky High School Athletic Association policies Paris High School is seeking a coach who will build more than a team - we are looking for a leader who will develop student-athletes into disciplined, accountable, and successful young men both on and off the field.
