Job Description

Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description Join a growing production team that manufactures high-quality workout and gym equipment, including ellipticals, weight racks, and tension weight machines. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment assembling a wide variety of machines, preparing sub-assemblies, and moving completed units. You will be trained across multiple product lines and work in small, collaborative assembly pods to ensure each machine meets strict quality standards. Responsibilities Complete mechanical assembly of various models of workout and gym machines by following established procedures and work instructions. Assemble and prep sub-assemblies for up to 32 different types of machines, ensuring all components are correctly installed. Move machines and components as required throughout the production area using manual and electric pallet jacks. Verify that completed machines meet quality standards and specifications, and accurately complete and initial all required paperwork. Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and measurements to perform accurate assembly tasks. Operate small air, hand, and electric tools safely and efficiently during the assembly process. Work as part of a 3-4 person assembly pod, collaborating with team members to meet production and quality goals. Cross-train in multiple assembly pods and product lines to provide flexibility and support across the department. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned to support production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift. Ability to bend, twist, and turn repeatedly during the workday. At least 6 months of previous working experience in any field. Preferably 6 months of previous assembly or manufacturing experience. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with power tools and hand tools. Ability to operate small air, hand, and electric tools safely. Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic drawings. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. Effective verbal communication skills to work well within a team environment. Good memorization skills to learn multiple machines, processes, and assembly steps. Reliable work history demonstrating consistent attendance and performance, even outside of manufacturing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in mechanical assembly or labor-intensive roles is beneficial. Comfort working in a production or manufacturing setting. Ability to adapt to cross-training and learn multiple assembly pods and product lines. Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate closely with 3-4 person work cells. Strong attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met on every machine. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility that is well lit with skylights and kept organized for efficient workflow. The area you will work in is part of the newer section of the building and is considered a fairly nice production environment. The facility is not air conditioned, so temperatures can become hot in the summer, and the company provides items like Gatorade and frozen treats on hot days to help keep employees comfortable. Work is performed in assembly pods or cells made up of approximately 3-4 people, rather than on a traditional moving assembly line. You will rotate and cross-train in different pods, assembling specific machines as part of a close-knit, team-oriented group. The role is physically active and requires frequent lifting, bending, twisting, and moving equipment, as well as regular use of small air, hand, and electric tools and manual and electric pallet jacks. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with training provided across multiple assembly lines to keep the work varied and engaging.
