Job Description

Maintain detailed records of the child's daily care, condition, progress, behaviors, and challenges to report and discuss with the parents; Provide personal hygiene care, such as bathing, brushing teeth, and hair care, while ensuring safety and comfort; Support daily living needs by changing bed linens, doing laundry, tidying play and living areas, and helping the child with personal care routines; Engage the child in age-appropriate activities, such as play, reading aloud, sensory stimulation, games, or conversation, to support cognitive, social, and emotional development; Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks based on the child's dietary needs and medical restrictions, and encourage positive eating habits; Monitor the child's change of behavior; Provide emotional support to the child and family, offering reassurance, encouragement, and instruction in areas such as promoting independence, adapting to disability, and managing care routines; Perform household support tasks as needed, including obtaining supplies, running errands, or organizing the child's personal space and care materials; Assist with therapeutic activities such as simple prescribed exercises, use of braces, splints, and other assistive devices, as directed by parents; Apply comfort measures such as gentle massage, range-of-motion activities, or parents; Support the child in family-centered care, assisting parents, when necessary, to maintain a nurturing home environment; Accompany the child to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community outings, providing transportation, assistance, and companionship; Provide wound and skin care, including changing dressings, monitoring for irritation, and reporting concerns; Assist with toileting needs and incontinence care, ensuring dignity, hygiene, and comfort. Requirements Six months of experience in the job offered or related occupations Available to work at night shifts, weekends and holidays when the state disability services are not available.
Licenses or Certifications:
Pediatric First Aid | CPR | AED (Child/Infant/Adult) - Comprehensive Health and Safety
